Allen was our interior designer for a complete remodel, including the kitchen and bathrooms. Our family loves the beautiful home he designed for us, and he made the entire process as smooth as possible. I would work with Allen again and I recommend him to my friends.

Process:
I gave Allen my architect’s drawings, inspiration photos, and a doc outlining my functional requests. Allen gave me 3D rendering within a few weeks, which I loved and needed little revisions. Then we went to the stores together to finalize all the materials - tiles and floors, cabinets and slabs, hardware, tubs and sinks, etc. Given we agreed on the 3D rendering, I only had to confirm Allen’s recommendations or choose from a few candidates. Finally he put all required materials together in a spreadsheet and helped me to get quotes from the stores. I only had to review and pay. This in turn made working with general contractor much easier since all design choices were made and materials secured way in advance.

Large-scale remodeling is complex and challenging, but working with capable and responsible designers such as Allen made it an enjoyable and eye opening learning experience. I am grateful for having worked with Allen on our home.

1. Allen was punctual in visiting us at home, taking photos needed to generate 3D renderings.
2. Spent a very generous amount of time on a Friday: taking us to the showroom to expose us to the different kinds of slabs for the kitchen counter, bathroom walls, bathroom floors, bathroom fixtures, kitchen sink and the kitchen cooktop. He was extremely patient while educating us on the pros and the cons of the different materials for the kitchen countertops always keeping in mind the colors of our cabinets and floor as well as our budget. While selecting bathroom fixtures he advised us keeping in mind the stylistic aspects of the latest designs, the finishings that would best match the bathroom tiles and of course our budget. He also directed us to different websites in order to lock in good prices.
3. He was meticulous in preparing a spreadsheet to track purchases and deliveries. He also helped us in securing invoices and negotiating the price with various suppliers.
4. We had 3 choices of slabs for kitchen countertops and were having difficulty in deciding amongst the 3. Allen gave us very detailed 3D renderings for the kitchen and the bathrooms with several options for slab, vanity. etc., which helped us immensely in making the right choices.
5. Overall, Allen is very creative, patient, knowledgeable, organized and meticulous. He was also prompt in answering our questions and also our requests for his advice. We had a wonderful experience working with him and would highly recommend him.

We worked with Sofiov Design for our whole house remodel in 2024. Allen is a fantastic design partner to make any remodeling project easier! He was quick to learn about our style, made the decision making very easy for us by shortlisting design finishes. We had very specific design elements asks that they were able to incorporate throughout the design.

Allen was able to provide us referrals for appliance shopping, cabinetry and other finishing material and was present where necessary to help us with finalizing the material.

The team (Allen, Emi) were super responsive via email / calls during the design as well as build process which is important because there are always things that come up and you need assistance.

Allen was wonderful to work with!

When embarking on our bathroom remodel, my husband and I had a basic idea of what we wanted, but some of our ideas clashed with each other and we had a bunch of semi-conflicting inspiration pictures of things we liked. We were first time remodelers and were honestly quite lost. Allen helped us solidify our vision and pick out really gorgeous finishes that fit our vision. I went into this project wanting a bathroom that felt like a spa for our guests, and almost every guest we've had since finishing the project has shared how much they love it and how much it feels like a spa. Allen nailed it, and the 3D renderings were SUPER helpful for those of us (me) who find it very challenging to see how store samples will actually come together into a full bathroom.

Allen also worked seamlessly with our general contractor to make sure they had everything they needed for permits and construction. We didn't have to worry about anything.

Sofiov Design created a completely new design for our family room and kitchen, which was a remarkable facelift.
