We have a small hillside in our front yard, which had a collection of sad attempts at "landscaping". During a visit to The Meadow in Placerville, their beautiful waterfall gave us an idea way beyond anything we could have imagined. Verne and his team have since made that hillside one of the most beautiful spots on our property. It also enhances our home and surroundings with the lovely sound of falling water. Verne and his team are truly artists and fascinating to watch. Deftly maneuvering boulders, rocks, and assorted stones into a special spot I have to visit a few times a day. Friends have commented that the waterfall seems like it should have always been here. It's one of the best investments we have made on our home. Thank You Verne, Juan, and Rodrigo.

We had a hillside that was threatening to become unstable after our pool was built. I had seen some of Verne's handiwork at a neighbor's and at a local nursery, so I gave him a call to see if he would be willing to take on the project of setting boulders to stabilize the area. He was willing and he began the project quickly. Verne, Rodrigo, and Juan worked for two long days to complete the project and instead of just piling a bunch of boulders in place, they gave me an opportunity to develop a beautiful rock garden and even provided my first California natives for the spot--Beautiful Christmas gifts that remind me how happy I am that we chose to work with these artisans!

Verne has done a number of landscaping projects for me. He designed and built a beautiful waterfall feature, several rock retaining walls and gardens around my Swim Spa deck and several pathways throughout the property. His work is amazing and impossible to describe with just words so I am attaching a number of photos of each proejct. Most of these have now been in place over five years and look as good as the day they were built. Once a year Verne's team will come by and perform maintenacne on the waterfall feature which keeps it looking great and virtually eliminates any effort from me to maintain the landscaping. I would highly recommend his team for any landscaping project you might be considering.

After remodeling our home we needed to re-landscape, & wanted to use CA natives. We found Verne through a local nursery. Verne connected us with a landscape designer, Marcia Scott. The installation was done Fall of 2011 through Spring, 2012. We've been extremely happy with the results and the support we've had from Verne & his excellent team. We still rely on them six years later for monthly maintenance and occasional changes.

The CA foothills are beautiful. If you want your home to fit into the landscape, using native plants is a natural solution. Using the expertise of someone like Verne & his team to help you makes sense too. I’d recommend Verne's The Art of Gardening to anyone considering this kind of project.

Verne and his crew took my pitiful attempt at an Aquascape waterfall and turned it into an incredibly beautiful water feature. They used native rock, and California native plants to make it look like it has always been a part of the landscape. They were very knowledgeable, professional with great artistic vision. In 2017 we had Verne out to give a quote for a water feature in our back yard. At the time, his quote was more than we wanted to pay, but our experience with him was very positive. This summer we had him out to clean and service our waterfall/pond and Verne and his guys did an outstanding job. They even saved the water in a little rubber pool as to not waste water. We hired Vern Pershing , The Art of Water, to clean our pond. Vern went above and beyond by fixing a rock formation that had been destroyed by our 40 pound fish. The pond cleaning was done efficiently and quickly and his Crew handled our fish with TLC. Like all pond owners, we have water clarity issues during certain times of the year. Our water was GREEN! Vern instructed us on exactly what to do and two weeks later, we can see the bottom of our 4 foot deep pond and most importantly, our beautiful fish. The water is crystal clear.
