I highly recommend Allen’s Valley Loam, as our experience there was like working with a neighbor that truly cared about our project. Santiago is the best! We have been there five times this week working on our project and the service and experience has been outstanding. They have a great selection and their half yard and yard prices are reasonable. Plus they are open on Sunday from 9 to 2!

Last month I went there to get 2 yards of Planter Mix to raise my lawn bed. When I was there I asked if that was the best product for what I wanted to do. Bob Allen asked me some questions and very quickly I discovered I was going to buy too much of the wrong thing. Bob saved me a bunch of money by selling me what I needed, instead of letting me overspend on what I thought I wanted.. The customer service here is the BEST I've seen in a very long time. If your looking for real decomposed granite this is the place that has it. Most other places heve a version of what they call decomposed granite but it's actually just what should be called smalls. Which is fines from crusher runs, and is full of shards. This place also has decomp. In various colors and good prices to boot.

They have a wide variety of rock, soil and loam. Very friendly and knowledgeable. The yard dogs are big but are also very friendly.

I purchased a 50/50 of garden mix and raisef bed soil. It is made by them. It is ground up clay and other garbage. The soil wouldn't take water. I even trief to ammend it with 20 bags of Kellogs raised bed soil and 10 + bags of perlite. Even then it dried cement hard. Second year I tried to amend with 10 more bags. Of the same. What a waist. I now have useless soil and am having to start all over again.
Now how to he rid of two 6'x12' raised plantees. I would avoid at all cost.
