I met Paco Segura in 2019. I was referred to him by a colleague, as my wife and I were looking for a contractor to do a large landscape/ pool project at our home (during this time, Paco was working for another firm.... Jeff Smith Landscape Assistance). After consideration and multiple bids, we decided to use that firm, and Paco was the lead on the design and completion of the project. Though there were some curveballs (as is expected on a big job), our yard turned out better than we could've expected.....and the team even finished earlier than estimated. The plants (softscape) that were chosen for our project have matured, and the yard is beautiful, as well as relatively easy to maintain, which was a primary goal. We've been enjoying it everyday since!

Fast forward to early 2022. I reached out to Paco, as we were looking to do some additional landscaping projects at our home; basically, areas that we didn't complete in 2019. Paco informed me that he had moved on, and started his own company, called Afuera Desongs. I was very excited to hear that! Furthermore, as his previous employer retired, Paco was able to bring his valuable team members with him, which was great to hear as well, as those folks did quality work for us last time.

Anyway, we met with Paco, discussing our wants and needs for the new project. Paco and his team came back with a great design, and a fair cost......so we chose to move ahead with him again. The project entailed building a custom firepit, a new seating area, and planting a grove of fruit trees. As expected, Paco's team came back on budget, with an on time completion. The plants and trees are immature at this time, but I'm excited to see how things grow and bloom. I'm confident that the softscape will be a perfect compliment to our home. With regards to the firepit, it turned out beautifully.....really putting out the heat. Great place to sit in the evenings with a cocktail.

Also, Paco is that he is very accessible. He checks in often during and after the project to make sure things are progressing as expected. This was just recently demonstrated. A couple months after the project was finished, we had a 'higher than expected' water bill. I suspected that it may have been a leaking sprinkler, as I'd checked many other potential sources to no avail. Paco responded immediately when I called, and was at my home the same day. He found a couple minor issues with the sprinkler system, and within a day, made those repairs. That fixed the problem!

If you are considering a landscape project (small or large), I'd recommend giving Afuera a call. If anything, you'll get educated on what to look for, and questions to ask other contractors. But I'm confident that you'll end up choosing Paco to complete your project! 😉

We recently hired Paco and his team at Afuera Landscape Designs to work on our property, and we’re really pleased with how everything turned out. They were professional, showed up on time, and always got back to us quickly when we had questions.
