I bought a couch at Alpha Design after falling in love with my friend's couch, also from Alpha Design. We had been looking for a new couch for at least a couple of years, and never found anything we really liked. Hans was able to customize so many aspects of our couch that were not possible to customize with other companies.

Our new L-shaped sofa is super comfortable, fits perfectly in our home, and arrived in less than the 2 week estimated wait (despite the Thanksgiving holiday). Thank you, Hans!

Never received sofa after many promises from Hans. Waited for over a month before I decided to cancel and then he would not even offer me a refund, so I had a file a claim with my credit card company. So so disappointing after so many positive reviews. Hands down, the worst experience for a custom sofa and no proactive communication.

Sunday was our day to shop for a sofa in and around Berkeley. Of all our local trips to furniture & sofa stores, Alpha Design had the highest quality & best design with fabric/ shape options available. Their selection was just enough, and Hans was great to chat with-reasonable and helped us envision options for our couch needs. Did I mention most of his sofas had coils & are made in LA? The prices were reasonable, given the quality. By far our best interactions, when sofa shopping, were w Hans at Alpha Design!

Hans is great: knowledgeable and kind. He was very patient to answer all my questions and helped me to design the couch I wanted. The customized couch came out to be everything I wanted and more! Great price and great delivery. I'm so happy to have a couch that I can have for life.

My husband and I were searching for a new sofa in East Bay after the frame of our IKEA sofa bed broke in just four years. It was so expensive everywhere we looked and they didn't fit into our small living room. I was skeptical first when my husband suggested ordering a customized one. I am really glad that we stopped by Alpha. Hans was very helpful in his consultation. We made a decision on the spot and the sofa was made in good quality as we wanted. It was delivered rather quickly. The movers were professional and efficient. They even took away our broken sofa. The cost was no more expensive than what we found in the market. Hans gave us two extra pieces of fabric as cover to protect our sofa from our dog. I am glad we could support local business. I highly recommend this store.

I love the couch I got! The selection is excellent, the couches are very customizable (from the fill to the depth to the fabric to the size). I find the prices very reasonable for the quality, and the couches shipped really quickly. Hans was also very kind and helpful and really lovely to work with. All in all, I had a great experience, and I'm very happy with our new couch.

I visited many sofa stores when looking for a sofa, and Hans and his store were the best. He was patient and very helpful in working with me to figure out exactly the sofa I wanted with different customizations. The sofa arrived on time and it's beautiful. I've been very happy and could not recommend Hans more!
