We worked with Michelle to completely redesign our small galley kitchen, and we are in love with the result. Her design had so many unique touches that fit our personal tastes and make effective use of our limited space. The process couldn't have been better, with clear communication and great solutions from start to finish. A few years ago I had the opportunity to move my salon into an old house that I had my eye on for years for my studio Hair By Cesare in Old Town Pasadena. When it finally came available, I knew it needed work to become what I wanted in a Salon space. I asked Michelle with Amberleaf Inc. Interior Design to help bring my vision to life.
I only gave her three parameters, Contemporary feel with White, Stainless steel and Blue.
She was able to work with me to figure out how to take those thoughts and turn them into a Boutique salon environment I was happy to be in all day. If I had my way I would never leave.
Clients always comment on how comfortable the space is. Its not too big so it was important to make use of every inch. Michelle helped me design some custom banquette seating with storage for my lounge, along with a custom white laquer metal reception desk, that is the perfect height for me when standing.
Even the lighting was considered because I need to have something that closely resembles natural daylight to get the hair color right. Her expertise in lighting helped me select the perfect solution of LED track with proper color spectrum. Lets not forget the window shades which allow light in but reduce the amount of heat we get from the older windows.
I would recommend Amberleaf and Michelle to anyone who wants a Design that is well thought, within budget, with great follow through. Her work really is amazing and will stand the test of time.

Michelle is absolutely amazing and very experienced! I worked with her on a complete remodel (kitchen, bath, bedroom, living room) and she was 100% worth it! She is extremely organized and makes sure to get every detail right. With Michelle, you are getting so much more then just a designer - she really cares about her projects and clients and goes above and beyond to make sure it looks beautiful and is done right. She doesn’t stop until every last finishing touch is perfect. She also understands a lot of details that go into a remodel beyond the design. I highly recommend her - she will not let you down!

I worked with Michelle on the remodel and redesign of my living room, TV room, kitchen, office, master bath and bedroom. We have a craftsman home over 100 years old and it hadn’t been upgraded in 30 years. The best thing about Michelle is that when I gave her some ideas about what I wanted, she totally got it! She even pushed me a bit but her ideas were terrific.
The redesign of the kitchen and master bath were particularly challenging and required removing an old chimney in the kitchen and reconfiguring the bathroom to accommodate a tub and shower. She also worked very closely with the general contractor and kept him on target.
Now the project is done and I love how everything fits - a blend of traditional with modern touches. She went out of her way to find decorative items that added a nice touch. I want to just stay home and enjoy! I would recommend Amberleaf for any design project. You won’t be disappointed!

She took the time to understand my husband and my tastes, taught us to build from them with new ideas and realize something beyond our expectations. I highly recommend Amberleaf Inc. I had a very good experience with Michelle. I purchased a small 700sq ft place condo in pasadena, and was on the verge of some serious buyer's remorse afterward. It was a difficult space to find furniture that fit properly and the bathroom was really outdated and shabby. Michelle went above and beyond to get things done for this project. She really takes pride in her work, and seems to want you to have a nice place to call home.

The entire process was really easy. Step 1, she meets with you to take a look at the space and gets a feel for what you want for the space. Step 2 she gives you 3 tiers of budget options. Step 3 she gives you a computer-generated design plan for discussion and review. Step 4, she makes it all come together. You can take part in as much or as little of the process as you want. My suggestion is just go with whatever she feels is best; she's quite good at what she does, and you hired her for a reason.

I had a really restricted budget that Michelle gladly worked within without complaint, and the results exceeded my expectations. I actually wonder what the condo could've turned out looking like if i hadn't handcuffed her budget so much during the process. I'll no doubt be less frugal when I hire Michelle again in the future for my '"forever home."
