I contacted Ariel to do an addition/renovation on a property I was purchasing. He completely over promised and under delivered. I was fine with whatever time/price he quoted. I was told by him he could get me preliminary drawings within a few weeks. He went and measured and then nothing. In the meantime I referred a family member to use him. Unfortunately he began to do the same thing to her. After 5 months he finally delivered preliminary plans. Which at this point I no longer dealt with him because he didn’t like that I would ask about the timeline. I was never rude to him and anytime I would ask what he needed to move forward he would threaten to quit and say we didn’t appreciate his efforts which was not the case at all. So basically you have to be ok with your draftsman completely ignoring you for however long they choose, not responding to any emails, texts or phone calls to check on the status. After 5 months he sent an email saying he was not going to finish our work. So we were forced to start completely over. He has ZERO regard for his clients and is seriously the most unprofessional person I have ever dealt with. If you can’t get something done in the time you promised you should communicate that with your clients instead of ghosting them and then quitting!!! I would pay extra money and go with an actual architect that has standards on how to treat people.

Highly Recommend!

AZ Residential Design has by far exceeded my expectations for my residential project plans. I set up a meeting to go over my project vision. My project was very unique, I might add. I was able to be seen within a couple of days. The meeting lasted about 45 min. I was educated on how the process was going to work and was shown a few purty cool 3D residential designs of previous residential addition projects. I have to say- I was amazed by the designs! I gave my deposit, signed my agreement, and started the blueprint plan process. We met with Ariel a couple of times to go over the plan review process. Soon after our last meeting our blueprints were ready to be submitted to the county. Overall, I have to say that AZ Residential Design did a quality job handling our project.

I hired Ariel to draw As Built plans for a garage conversion and new garage built without permits. I obtained quotes from architects and other draftspersons three times what Ariel charged me. I began the process utterly stressed out realizing the county could require me to demolish these structures. With the hiring of Ariel I began to settle down and understand I had hired a true professional who would put a competent stamp on my permit applications and help to guide me in the right direction. The plans only had minor corrections and were accepted shortly after drawn and Building Inspection was relatively easy (hard to believe) due to the professional manner in which the plans were drawn.
