He is professional, informed and stays on trend, without being trendy. His design is classic and timeless. My wife and I have worked with Charles since 2007 on multiple properties. He initially did the interior design for a small high rise condo in San Diego. We then worked with Charles for the complete remodel of our 5000 square foot home 7 years ago. We are currently using Charles' keen design eye to do a complete remodel of another condo in downtown San Diego that we have owned for 13 years.

Charles is brilliant at designing around different requirements. We had requirements which ranged from very contemporary to mid-century modern. We also had small, simple designs requirements such as a laundry room and bathrooms to fairly complex designs in the small space of a condo to reflect an urban environment.

We could not give Charles a higher recommendation for any design project. All of the projects he has done for us have left us in love with the final result and how we feel when are living in the spaces that he has designed. We have left almost all of the design work, furniture selection, color coordination, etc. to Charles and he worked and coordinated brilliantly with my wife on the direction we wanted to go. I have always been exuberant about the outcome.

On a personal note, Charles has always been honest and fair with us. When mistakes were made, as always happens, he owned them and corrected them. The fact that we have used his services for three major projects and multiple small jobs, which were all very personal spaces for my wife and me, is a testament to the confidence we have in his work based on 17 years of using his design services.

He has always been a pleasure to work with, our trust and confidence in him could not be higher, the results of his work are always beyond expectation and we just plain enjoy his company when we are working with him.

I first found Charles Taylor Interior Design, last year, during our construction of an Addition to our Master B.R., to be used as my Private Suite/Office. This project also included a full bathroom remodel.

After trying to work with the designer "assigned" to me from the Construction Co., Charles was a breadth of fresh air!

First, he's just pleasurable to work with, & his knowledge of all things "Design" is impressive, to say the least.

After I described my ideas, style, tastes, desires, etc., I could tell right away that we were already on the same page, by the ideas he came up with during our first meeting!

Charles and his team were incredible, and I couldn't recommend them highly enough. I've used three designers before and Charles is in a league of his own.
A company's true mark of quality is the ability to operate through challenges. And my project had its challenges. Covid made material wait times incredibly long and changes had to be made. Additionally, through no fault of Charles and his team's, a water leak caused some damage during the bathroom renovations. However, while not responsible, Charles' team 100% owned the mistake and started repairing the damages. Honestly, it was one of the most impressive experiences regarding home improvement I've witnessed, and I've been part of several. I'd go with them just for how professionally they handled these challenges.
The renovation and design were simply stunning. My home just feels inviting and relaxing. It's difficult to describe how a space can feel grand and cozy simultaneously, but they pulled it off. If you've read this far, stop and reach out to Charles. You won't regret it!

I worked with Charles directly on a complete interior remodeling and re-furnishing of my home in Encinitas. The project was about 6-months duration and we met in person, spoke , texted, emailed often. He was always available to me even on weekends and promptly returns all communications. He arranged and accompanied me on shopping trips to pick out big ticket items like furniture, rugs, etc. I wouldn't hesitate to hire his firm again and I reccommend CTID to anyone I know who is looking to level up their spaces at home, business, office, public (restaurant, bar gallery) , whatever!
