Chris was brilliant with the design idea, exceptional workmanship and solid construction of the bench and lovely flagstone placed around the base. It is now such a beautiful focal point at the entry of our dental office and well loved by our patients who enjoy sitting there. Everything exceeded our expectations. Before reaching out to Clearview our backyard was basically just dirt and weeds with a gopher problem and terrible drainage.

On our first call with Chris we described our backyard vision and what our project goals were. Chris and his team then worked closely with us to make a plan that not only met our goals and budget but created a beautiful backyard we want to spend time in.

Our priorities were drainage as well as eliminating weeds and gophers. Upon breaking ground they cleared the top layer of dirt and weeds and then graded the area to divert water to a specific place to be received by the French drain. Then they dug a French drain which collects the diverted water from the planned grading and sends it to the dry creek which they also created. After laying a simple irrigation system for a few trees and shrubs they put down weed mat and gopher wire. Then came the DG (decomposed granite) and pea gravel as the top layer. Planting trees and shrubs were the last step for completion.

Keep in mind our backyard was completed in under two weeks.

Our first storm of the season we got about 2 inches of rain within an hour which is substantial in Southern California. The French drain and dry creek worked amazing. The water was diverted through the French drain, to the dry creek where it absorbed into the ground just as planned. Goal achieved.

Additionally, since Clearview finished, our weed and gopher problems are now non-existent. Goals achieved.

One year after completion, we're so happy with the results. Chris and the Clearview team did an excellent job. They were punctual, worked according to the plans and budget and got the job done within the time frame they proposed. Not only that but Chris has made himself available for any questions or help needed since project completion.

We used Clearview for a complicated project to underground a streetlight wire and prepare for an underground conduit, meter, and base for a new streetlight. Chris Hulme and Kevin Downs with Clearview were up to the task. This involved strict SB planning and SCE requirements. Clearview's competent employees dug a three food ditch through rocks and boulders from the back of our yard to the street. They completed it and it was approved immediately with no corrections. Huge task and very impressive work. Chris also spoke with and informed our neighbors. This took that stress off of us. These pictures don't express how beautiful their stonework for this project was as well. It's outstanding, and we are enjoying all the compliments. They also created a beautiful wooden staircase on the other side of our yard that is now the highlight as you enter our property. Five stars for these guys. This project was more expensive than we thought, but isn't that the case for all of us. I say it's well worth the price. The fact that we had zero problems with the city and SCE speaks to the outstanding work of Clearview.

Chris and the entire Clearview Landscaping crew designed and implemented our new tropical paradise as if it were going to be their own home. They cleared the overgrown old plantings and carefully prepared the ground to address gopher, weed, and drainage issues. After regrading the back hill, the crew installed new sandstone rock walls that look great and created flat planting areas that are easier to maintain. The new drip system was professionally installed and ensures proper irrigation of over 30 new tropical plantings. All work was completed cleanly, with care, and on schedule. We are excited to see the new plant growth in our yard and will enjoy it for many years.

Chris and his team at Clearview Landscaping did several projects at our house on the Upper Riviera; irrigation, planting, driveway bricks and design and spreading gorilla mulch. All projects were performed timely, with great communication and follow through. We love our brick driveway (it was previously concrete) and the four square pattern outside our garage doors. We highly recommend them and will most definitely use them again!
