We hired Del Sol to clean my mothers (senior)apartment. It wasn’t replaced before the last tenant and from Olive trees and walking on the carpet, it was stained horribly. They got it very clean and it smelled so good. Here a picture of the difference WOW!

I don't like writing bad reviews. Especially for services (as opposed to restaurants), I offer the company every opportunity to fix the problem before I post anything negative. This case is no exception.

I asked Del Sol Carpet cleaning to clean my mother-in-law's carpets a few Fridays ago. Then unfortunately, on Thursday, my dog pooped on the carpet right in the middle of the living room! There was no urine, so nothing to soak the stain into the carpet or pad.

Not wanting to make matters worse, I called Del Sol and asked what to do - I didn't want to put a bunch of wet cleaner on the carpet and have it settle stain or interact with their chemicals. They told me to clean it up as best I could with a little product (I told her I had some Folex) and not to push anything into the carpet; that they'd be able to lift a fresh stain when they came the next day.

When they arrived, I showed them the stained area, where the spot stains (my dog walks around when he poops - thanks Duke) we're, and the rest of the downstairs and staircase, all which were to be cleaned.

They cleaned the carpets and everything looked good while it was wet - but it was VERY wet.

The next morning, I came down to a GIANT brown stain - maybe 4' x 6' in the middle of the living room. I didn't know if they had spread around the pet stain without lifting it, or if it was stain pulled up from the carpet pad below, but my mother-in-law was coming back Sunday, and her carpets looked TERRIBLE. There was also browning of the carpet in the entryway and on the stairs (which were still drenched after 14 hours of no traffic and running the whole-house fan all night for airflow).

So I called them Saturday morning, and was pleased that they agreed to come right back to fix the problem. When they came, I explained that I needed the carpet clean, and I didn't want them to do the same thing as the day before if that was going to make it worse. I explained that my mother-in-law was coming home late that night and I couldn't have it looking like this when she arrived. They told me that they would try to lift the stain, but that if they couldn't, that was it.

Well, they didn't make it worse, so that's good. But it didn't get better either. So I called another guy. On a recommendation, I called A-1 Steamway to see if he could fix the problem.

This guy identified the problems right away, and basically charged me $300 to clean the carpets because they were still so wet that he wanted to suction them before he even started, and because the staining had become so bad that it would take a lot of work to get it out.

But he did it. Del Sol had returned and tried to fix it, but didn't. A1 Steamway came in and fixed it on the first pass.

When I called Del Sol to ask for a refund, the girl who answered said that she's need to have someone call me back, but that call never came.

Today when I called back, they asked for pictures, which I provided, and said that they could not provide a refund because I never asked them to use chemicals to get the stain out - that they were trying to fix the problem without charging me more.

When I explained that I told them I needed it fixed, they should have told me that they could fix it with an upcharge, but instead they implied that there was nothing else they could do.

Furthermore, if they needed to do something to get the stain out, they should have told me that before they ever started, but they never game me any indication that there would be any problems; or that they could fix the problems once they arose. They seemed to be using the excuse that they didn't charge me enough to get the stain out, but I'd gladly have paid more if I knew that was an option; and I should have been told it was an option when I called them back to fix it.

I will say that the people who came to my house were very kind. Even when I was complaining about the stains, they were polite and heard me out. They just weren't willing to make it right.
