Del Sur Designs, led by the incredibly talented Heather, has become an essential part of our lives. Over various projects spanning two different homes, Heather has not only transformed our living spaces but also made our daily lives better in ways we couldn't have imagined. At this point, it's like Heather is part of our family.

The most significant project we tackled with Del Sur Designs was a complete home makeover, including six bathrooms, five bedrooms, and a big overhaul that involved changing floors and improving a grand staircase. Heather's way of doing things is like an artist; she puts together big design ideas with small, thoughtful details. Whether it's a simple throw blanket on a couch or arranging seashells on a shelf, Heather's touch makes every part of our living space feel whole and inviting.

What makes Del Sur Designs special is Heather's incredible talent for making every room feel functional and inviting, turning them from just rooms into cozy family spaces. In our old home, there was a living room that went unused for the first few years. But with Heather's design skills, our living room became the go-to spot for gatherings with friends and family. Her designs have this amazing way of drawing people in and making them feel right at home.

Besides her awesome design skills, Heather is also great at finding common ground between my wife's and my own design preferences. She understood what each of us liked and worked really hard to find a middle ground where we both loved the designs. She turned our homes into places that truly reflected both of our unique styles. It made the whole design journey a fun and cooperative experience.

One of the things I worried about most, and also what impresses us most about Heather, is how well she managed our budgets. She always came up with smart solutions to make our modest budgets work for each project, all while keeping things high quality and stylish. Her dedication and professionalism in delivering fantastic results within our budget limits is truly impressive.

Heather's impact goes beyond just making our homes look nice. She has a special talent for making us love our living spaces. We're sure her designs not only added value to our old home but also recreated that magic in our new one. The warmth, functionality, and charm she adds to every project are really something.

I can't recommend Heather and Del Sur Designs enough. Heather is not only an incredible designer but also an amazing person. Her talent for blending our ideas with her creative skills is truly inspiring. Del Sur Designs has turned our houses into homes, and we're so thankful for the wonderful impact they've had on our lives.

Our family has used Heather for 2 different home projects now. The first was a minimal remodel of our kitchen (paint, backsplash, hardware, lighting) and a larger project with flooring for several rooms, remodel of our laundry room after a flood, and remodel of living, dining, and office space. Heather is very easy to work with and very respectful of our budget constraints. She has fun, innovative ideas to help make spaces feel more open and deal with funky special challenges. I really appreciate how she manages the contractors during the project since our schedules are very busy. We are very grateful and pleased with the beautiful spaces she has created for our family.

Heather is absolutely one of the best interior designers in the county. She listened to our desires, she looked at the spaces, she built mood boards to hone in on what we liked for colors and style, and delivered unparalleled spaces in our home. She is super creative thinking outside the box when it came to our teenager’s room. It was absolutely amazing. She helped us with shopping for fabrics for redoing our chairs. She designed and had a custom bed made for our daughter. She helped us find some beautiful mirrors and more. Honestly, I don’t know of a more humble, creative and inspired designer.

I had a wonderful experience with Heather Ault at Del Sur Designs. My husband and I have been in our home for 20 years and are ready to put it on the market now that our kids are grown. We had no idea what to do and the pandemic made things even more difficult. Heather was a pro. She worked with us virtually, suggesting basic finishes and staging tips to get our house ready for market, in a tight timeframe with a tight budget. We will definitely use Heather again once we get settled in our next house!

We had a very negative experience working with Heather Ault of Del Sur Designs. Our initial project involved renovating a personal dinning room/work conference area. Needed items included selection of paint color, wall décor, light fixture and possible replacement of our existing curtains. Heather Ault spent one hour on location selecting the paint color, light fixture, and curtain materials. Her quote was approximately $750 for a light fixture I ultimately rejected because it was too small for the room, $8,434.53 for a mirrored wall, $3,500 for new curtains (covering six feet), $500-600 for a painting I recently saw at Home Goods for $99, and a recommendation for a blue shade of paint. I was surprised by the costs of the items proposed and declined the initial recommendation of blue paint because there was no shade of blue in the room at issue (which was on an open floor plan) and there was no blue anywhere in the home. I explained my decision as conservative, at which point, Heather recommended a more neutral paint color, which we also elected not to use for personal preference reasons. After the consultation, Heather’s assistant sent two additional mirror recommendations, at a proposed cost of $1800 and $600 respectively. I reflected on the proposal but ultimately decided to independently purchase a more elegant mirror that has an antique beveled edge with beading. While it is smaller in size than what Heather/her assistant envisioned, it fits the wall perfectly and looks stunning. After we installed the mirror, I decided to proceed with updating the room at issue on my own and planned to reach out to Heather to purchase any items I found on Wayfair or similar websites, in the hope that we would pay the price I found online, she could earn a designer’s commission/referral from the website, and that way we would use up our deposit and go our separate ways. But I ended up purchasing the needed items from Pottery Barn, HomeGoods and a local art dealer in person and did not have the opportunity to consult or purchase through Heather. After approximately 18 months, I contacted Heather and requested a refund of my deposit. In my request, I complimented her work, explained that she was priced outside our budget, and confirmed that her hourly rate of $95 (for the one hour she spent at my home selecting the paint, light fixture, and curtain material we did not use) was already withdrawn from our deposit. Heather ignored my emails, which were followed up with text, voicemail message, and even a submission on her website. I’m really disappointed, as I feel this is a dishonest and fraudulent business practice. I provided Heather with a $500 deposit toward our project and am entitled to $405 back, as this money was not used on any products or services with Heather. I’m also disappointed for what I felt were highly inflated price quotations, which had the effect of pricing me out of Heather’s services. Heather was professional and responsive when she pitched her sale, and now that I have declined her proposal, she refuses to respond or refund my deposit.
