Although I didn't end up buying a new pair of shoes from this store, I thought I would give a shout out to Dylan, who helped me out with my shopping experience. She was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and professional, which made an otherwise ordinary, mundane experience much more worthwhile. I only met with Dylan, but I really hope the hiring manager takes notice and hires more employees that exemplify her level of professionalism. In my humble opinion, she sets the standard of what the customer experience should be. So huge shout out to Dylan -- thank you. The world needs more people like her.

I had my teenage son fitted for golf clubs by Hyoung at the Washington Square Dick's. I've known Hyoung for several years as a regular player at the golf course where I work. He is always friendly, humorous and informative and a pleasant partner.

Hyoung has extensive experience in the game of golf at every level. His clubfitting knowledge and experience, combined with infinite patience and good will, made a potentially daunting task interesting and fun. I recommend Hyoung to anyone. He wants to help you succeed -- not sell you something you don't need.

Thank you, Hyoung!

Decent merchandizing, but weird experience. Closed the doors to the mall 3 minutes before closing time, so myself and another customer had to walk outside the mall to find an access point in the rain. Multiple employees were staring at us both the entire time like we were going to steal something (I didn’t even know the other guy). Can’t recall a time I’ve ever felt like I was being watched before, very strange. Won’t be coming back.

Showed up to this store ready to purchase softball cleats. Made my choice and looked around for someone to help... nothing for 15 min. So I approached a gentleman with a headset for help. He called on someone for me. After a couple min she arrived I showed the cleats / SKU. She proceeded to the back of the store and came back with wrong cleats. She dropped off the wrong cleats and just started to walk away. I had to chase her down. She went to the back of the store again and never came back! I waited for like 20 mins! Absolutely, appalling customer service / rude employees. Lots of employees walking around and not one asked if I needed help. Went to a little ma and pa store down the road and I was in and out in 10 min. Never coming back to Dick's Washington Square.

20 minutes for staff to grab a pair of shoes from the back is not acceptable. 3 staff members cruising the show section, that radio in the stock area to bring out shoes.

Ashley was in training and she was actually great. Provided amazing customer service, was very friendly and also very helpful. Her manager was also super nice and he was very helpful as well. They had a few employees that helped me look for a missing shoe I wanted to buy and then price matched when I found it cheaper on the sellers site. Saved me some money.

The employees were extremely rude and not at all helpful. I placed an order online to pick up. I then arrived at the store 40 minutes after placing my order. The website said that orders would be ready in an hour, so I thought I would check in to see if I could get an estimated time when the order might be ready. I looked around and saw a cashier by the registers and no one else around, so I asked her if she had any suggestion as to how long until it would be ready. Her response was not even to ask about the order number or the items in my order, but to say, "We get lots of online orders. If you haven't received a notification that it's ready, then you'll just have to wait." Even after explaining that we live over 2 hours away, and would really appreciate not having to lose my entire day to waiting for an order to be filled, her response was the same. I tried to elicit help once more by letting her know that I had called over after placing the order to verify the items I purchased were actually in stock since both items said that there was only 1 left, and it had been confirmed that the items were in stock, and I wondered if there was any chance that they might just be sitting somewhere, or if maybe I could find them to help the process along. I was then told that the only option besides waiting was to cancel the online order and purchase the items in person.

At this point, my daughter needed to use the restroom, so we decided to leave in search of a bathroom and lunch, in the hopes that the order would be ready when we returned. We walked out of the store and within a minute (no exaggeration), I had received a text saying that the order was ready to be picked up. We continued to the bathroom and to get lunch, stopping to sit and eat for a few minutes, before returning to the store. By this time, it had been 1 hour 15 minutes since placing the order, so I was fully expecting it to be ready. The text I had received telling me that the order was ready had a link for me to click on in order to "check in when you arrive." I clicked on it, following the prompts to let the store know where I was standing (by the registers) and what I was wearing for identification purposes. The site then told me that I was next in line, and someone would bring my order right out.

My daughter and I stood talking for 5 minutes waiting for someone to approach us, at which point I told her I would give them 5 more minutes and then I would find out what was going on. About halfway through that wait, the same person we had spoken with earlier approached with a digital device in her hand. Cashier: Are you here to pick up your order?
Me: Yes.
Cashier: What is the last name?
Me: Brown
Cashier: With a W or with an S?
Me: (Puzzled) It has a W. Wait, do you mean first initial?
Cashier: Yes.
Me: Oh! My first initial is an S.
Cashier: Well, the order pickup area is on the other side of the store. You'll need to go over there to pickup your order.

My daughter and I then walked across the store to get the order, which the other store employee then had to go get from a locked cabinet. I can honestly say that I will NEVER go back to this store again, and here are the things that should be fixed if anyone cares about having happy customers that care to return:

1. If someone comes in looking for an online order, suggest that they could maybe check in with the people at the order pickup desk.
2. Ask the customer what the order number is, and check to see what the status of the order is. Even if there's no way to pick up the order sooner, these first two steps make it look like the cashiers want to be helpful, as opposed to not caring at all.
3. The website states that online orders will be ready in an hour. If this is not accurate, or an order cannot be filled in that amount of time, the website needs to be changed.
4. When someone arrives in store to pick up an order and checks in via the website, either the order needs to be brought to the customer or the website response needs to be altered.
5. Clear signage directing to the pickup desk would be helpful.
