My wife and I were referred to Johnna Brooks for landscape design by an architect in connection with a house remodel project. Johnna was terrific to work with and immediately became a critical part of our project team. She has extensive knowledge of plants, trees, shrubs and also lighting and irrigation systems. She's was able to embed in her drawings photos of plants etc in our plan. She uses modern info technology to create first class drawings and also provides her clients with 3D visualization, which greatly helped us to "see" what the landscape plan will actually look like after it has been implemented. We like very much the design work completed by Johnna and definitely would use her again should we need to develop a new plan or modify the one we have already. We recommend her to anyone looking for an exceptional landscape designer.

Johnna is phenomenal. I wish I were tech savy enough to attach a photo! You can look at her website for photos of her work. Our home is in Menlo Park and the landscaping was completed in the fall of 2017. Very creative, incredibly receptive to client requests, and her eye for color and form is exquisite. I see on reviews that a few people didn't like her billing, which is odd. It was a straight-forward billing process with a bill and a check for us, nothing unusual, and a reasonable price point. I highly recommend her

I was referred to Johnna by my neighbor in Los Gatos, she had her huge yard designed by Johnna, I was so impressed I had her come to my house to help me with ideas, She listened intently at what I wanted and she delivered! She took the time to choose my plants and over see the entire work day with her crew for install, her team is amazing. I am an active Realtor in the area and I refer Johnna whenever I get the chance.

I would not recommend using this designer. The initial meeting was good. However, subsequent follow-up meetings were a disaster due to miscommunication and poor follow through. Dimensions provided on layout were grossly overstated. Contract stated dimensions to scale of 1/4 in = 1 ft. Johnna never took any measurements for our project although she provided dimensions on her work (where did dimensions come from?). We did not receive final draft after she was paid $1,850 in full. The draft we received was not completed because she no longer had access to Vizterra software. Due to her not having access to software, we received inconsistent drawings. We are still waiting for what we paid for. Find another designer.

Update: Johnna is a petty petty woman. After not getting her payment instantly on her schedule, she then a few days later sent an "updated bill" post dated to attempt to make it look like it was before she started all this... She added a "delivery charge" this was no where in the contract. Nor would it have been even heard of if I had managed to meet her crazy demands... It is 100% her lashing out and being spiteful. And the saddest part is that I think she is so self absorbed she honestly doesn't see how horrible her actions are.

I have gotten the advice of a lawyer to send her a cease and desist letter along with her final check, along with the evidence of the false charges. Even after getting her FULL payment in less than a week including mail time she still felt it was necessary to send out another notice that it was a partial payment because I didn't pay her petty spiteful delivery charge.

I should have expected this after her threats about making things ugly.

This woman is someone to avoid at all costs. Find someone, anyone else. And if you have someone recommend her, probably would it be a good idea to question their business too...

I used Johnna because my landscaper recommended her. It was an easy choice and I didn’t want to interview a lot of people. She took forever to complete the project. Took days to respond to things.

Now that my project is done she is being creepy amounts of demanding to get her payment for the plants. I was going to leave a check and I forgot. I told her this. She has called me 6 times today. Gone to my house a second time to look for the check even though I said I wasn’t home. Then called me an accused me of being home because things were moved by the painters. All after I told her in text and email that I would email the check.

I highly recommend that you stay away from her.
