The team at Gibson was amazing. We brought in two hanging fixtures and two sconces from the 30s to be rewired and restored. I was blown away by what we got back. The prices were reasonable and everything was ready before he had promised.
It is clear that they take pride in their work and I would use them again in a heartbeat.

Jim, Gil, and the Gibson Lighting team are great to work with! We have purchased multiple light fixtures for our older home from Gibson Lighting and they have also rewired items for us with a quick turnaround time. Jim worked with us on matching patinas and ensuring that the chandeliers had the proper hardware for installation.They have a good selection of lighting that is historically appropriate and it is fun to browse the studio.

Jim Gibson and Gilbert Meza and the entire crew at Gibson Antique Lighting are incredible and the best in San Diego. My historic home was basically destroyed when a water pipe broke and Jim did wonders to help me. First he repaired a chandelier and restored it so that no one could tell there was water damage. Second, he helped me create historical lightening pieces by using items in his shop that complemented the time period for my house. No one can believe they are new!! Finally Jim helped in the areas where I wanted lighting to be creative in my kitchen by creating the best lighting fixture ever- a chandelier of vintage cookie cutters and children's pots and pans. It is a one of a kind creation and every visitor takes a picture of it. Jim's talents go beyond lighting and he helped me create bar stools to match the chandelier by painting second-hand bar stools red with large pots as the seats.

I hope Gibson stays in business for a long time. Gilbert and the rest of the staff is wonderful to work with and exercised a tremendous amount of patience with me as I went through the trauma of rebuilding my house after the flood. They are my go-to place for lighting. Jim never says no to my ideas and always finds a way to make them work.

Gibson Lighting is a joy to work with. Excellent service, creative ideas, terrific problem solvers. We have done multiple projects together -- many for our own house. Although it's a hike to get to Jim's shop, it is SO worth the trip!
In addition, on the rare occurrence when there's a problem with one of his lights, Jim stands behind everything that he produces! 100% customer satisfaction is what you receive when working with Gibson Lughting.

Gibson & Gibson Lighting is one of the most creative lighting businesses I've ever been in. Jim Gibson helped me not only to create some beautiful fixtures for my home in San Diego, but he also gave me all the confidence to and assistance in making all the light fixtures for a home in Santa Fe, NM. Everything from the wall sconces to the ceiling fixtures and chandeliers turned out exquisite and the compliments on both houses have been numerous. What a great experience!

Jim Gibson is an incredible artisan. He has created the most stunning pieces for many of our projects. Not only is his lighting amazing with hand blown glass and elegant details but he has also created beautiful range hoods, carved and cast moldings and mirror frames.
All of that in the package of a charming + reliable man. I'm a super fan.

My husband and I have worked with Jim Gibson since we bought our house in 1998. He literally has put most every light fixture in for us. We count ourselves so fortunate to have found him. He is unbelievably knowledgeable and has so much foresight. His inventory is vast and his vision is even larger. I found him kind, patient, and searching for the perfect lighting for our home. When I move, his fixtures are what I will take with me.

for custom lighting fixtures and refurbishing and rewiring older fixtures.
