I spent thousands of dollars there over a couple years, and it remains my favorite hardware and supply store I’ve ever been to. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, the lumber quality is top notch (and they can source just about anything), they have high quality tools (best utility knife I’ve ever owned is from there- brand I’d never heard of), and the candy bars are sold with no markup. They once adjusted a load of shingles that I hadn’t bought from them (it was rubbing against my trailer tire) with their forklift- just to help out. Miss it every time I need to go to the hardware store now that I’m 3,000 miles away.

I go to GBS almost daily for my carpentry business, and i highly recommend the people and products there. Staff are highly knowledgable about construction materials and techniques, which makes working with them smooth and truly pleasant. They have an excepcional commitment to customer satisfaction, and will patiently work with me on every detail of a project large and small. They have the best lumber yard on the mendonoma coast. Can’t recommend these folks enough, and i couldn’t run my business nearly as well without them

There's always knowledgeable help at the special order desk and checkout even to the extent of researching a certain power tool info online for me to see if the blade I was looking to buy would fit. Their lumber and hardware prices are the best on the South Coast of Mendocino County. Their rental/saw shop repair techs and sales associates are unparalleled in their willingness to go out of their way to accommodate whatever special circumstance they encounter. We're disadvantaged in many ways given our remote rural location. Thanks to GBS, our home improvement, construction and small engine repair and maintenance needs don't have to suffer from the same predicament.

I can walk up and down the aisles for hours in this hardware store/ lumber yard. Tons of product, super knowledgeable staff even tho they are all mostly new. Top notch good looking staff. The best hardware store lumber yard in nor-cal.

I just moved to the area and I wanted to give a shout out to the ladies at Gualala Building Supply!!! They know their ?$%& over there. I was amazed at the lumber pricing. I figured since it was such a remote area that the lumber prices would have been much higher. In fact some of the redwood prices are about $2.00 a board cheaper than Home Depot AMAZING!!!! They didn't have all of what I needed so they brought what they didn't have over from Healdsburg Lumber to fill my order the next day. It's nice to know that whatever I need I can get locally. The yard personnel are super fantastic they helped with all my needs!!!

Always friendly and helpful. Extensive variety of building supplies of all types. From deck screws to lumber and everything else too. If you have a house repair or are building one this is the place to go on the Mendonoma Coast!
