Scam Alert: Warning to Residents of Tracy, Lathrop, and the Bay Area

I am writing this as a strong warning to everyone in Tracy, Lathrop, and the Bay Area about a scam involving a person named Basir. I recently fell victim to his fraudulent activities, and I want to share my experience to prevent others from being cheated.

Here’s how I got scammed: A person I know informed me that Basir was offering 30-40% discounts on products from top brands. I was interested, so I selected some furniture . Basir quoted me a price after the discount and promised delivery within two weeks. However, after two weeks, I received no updates, and my attempts to contact him went unanswered.

Eventually, Basir claimed that the delivery was delayed due to issues with shipments from India and that it would arrive in another two weeks. This pattern of excuses continued for months, with no progress made despite my persistent follow-ups. He always sounded convincing, so I kept trusting him. H started additional money for delivery. However, when I started demanding a refund or further action, his responses became increasingly rude and dismissive.

I insisted on a refund, but he told me he would check on the booking and get back to me. Again, no answers to calls or texts for two weeks. After a while, he claimed the refund was coming soon, but weeks passed without any progress. In the end, I received no money back and was left without the furniture I paid for.

What I discovered later was shocking: Basir had been selling used, returned, or damaged furniture, which he sourced from top brands. These products were being passed off as new, and he was charging full price for them.

Additionally, Basir always insisted that payments be made via Zelle, which makes it difficult for customers to report transactions to the bank or recover their money unless Basir himself decides to refund it. further complicating any chance of disputing or tracing the payments.

Government authorities need to investigate businesses like this and take immediate action to shut them down.

Please, do not trust Basir or anyone claiming similar offers. Always read reviews and do your research before making any purchases. This is a serious warning for anyone in the area to avoid falling into the same trap I did.

Stay cautious, protect your hard-earned money, and report suspicious activity to the authorities!

Like many other mentioned here he lies constantly and does not communicate. Bought a sofa through him and paid an advance. He promised the same 2 week window, it was never delivered. Ended up waiting a month and never got it. Had to continously call and text just to get a refund (2 weeks after i requested it), which I had to cash immediately because I didn't trust him (cost me $7.25). Overall terrible experience, waste of time and now I'm down $7.25 and so much time wasted with this guy would not recommend.

I had an extremely disheartening experience. The owner was discourteous and completely lacked the ability to communicate effectively with customers. We made an advance payment of more than 50% with the assurance that our sofa would be delivered within two weeks. However, on the scheduled delivery day, we found out that he hadn't even placed the order. He promised delivery by January 4th after our two-week Christmas vacation, but yet again we faced delays. In the end, the sofa was never delivered, though we eventually received our initial payment back after numerous calls and follow-ups. While we would have understood a delay due to customs or other issues, it was the owner's poor communication and constant untruthfulness that were truly problematic. Had we been given an honest delivery estimate of six weeks from the beginning, our expectations would have been set accordingly

Scamming people by asking them to Zelle the money so later you can’t claim through your bank. Never deliver anything for months if you purchase from this business. My friend order furniture, Basir asked them to make the full payment through Zelle which they did and after 3 months never received the furniture and never got payment and banks won’t cover the Zelle transaction. The city should close his business as it is a place for scamming people .

Women with my wife to look for furniture as we moved to Tracy. The gentleman that greeted us was very friendly and helped us with the whole procedure. He found us the couches in the bed for our budget and they were extremely nice delivered it for free and even installed it would recommend this place 100 percent

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! DO NOT waste your time. BASIR guaranteed a bed set and couch within the same week. The day it was going to arrive they said it wasn’t going arrive until a month later. We waited a month, when it finally arrived he said 12-1. They didn’t arrive until 3:30pm(which I took off work for this delivery). When they arrived the workers stated they couldn’t put anything together because they didn’t have proper equipment. WHAT A WASTE! On top of that, they brought a wrong piece to the couch. So, the couch I loved so much and was so excited about turned out to be NON-COMPLETE!! DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS PLACE!

The worst place to buy furniture is this place. Basir was rude, never provided any after sales service deliver defective item and then never ever you will get response from him. My sofa was delivered with hole in it he said he will replace but I followed up for three months but he never responded. Avoid this shop at all cost.

Basir is very rude guy, He says he will get the same product and quality from branded stories like Ashely etc. But he gets all junk, he gets the defective pieces from Ashely and sells its for reduced prices. As soon you get the product you will see hell lot of problem and lots of used marks. Please be careful.
