Great restaurant! We came in with no expectations because of its location, but it really exceeded them. The place feels cozy, like a home 😉

Charcuterie board: 8/10 - They dry their own meat, and you can taste the earthy flavor. The locally dried persimmon is a nice touch

Focaccia with garlic butter: 8/10 - Super fresh, and the butter is so creamy.

Crab salad: 8/10 - The fennel and orange pair perfectly with the pieces of crab.

Pasta with meat: 9.5/10 - (I forgot the name of the dish!) Mini ravioli filled with cheek meat. The deep, rich meat flavors were incredible.

Beef tartare: 8/10 - Smooth and full of flavor, with the caviar on top being a great addition.

Both the cheesecakes and the coffee panna cotta were fantastic, 8.5/10.

Highly recommend this place! We’ll definitely be back.

Great meal here – we got the osso bucco, the chicken liver, and the ricotta gnocchi, which was more than enough food for us. Everything was very high quality – our favorite was for sure the chicken liver. If I had one critique, I'd say that each dish had a lot going on, and I would have preferred things to be a bit simpler. But overall everything was quite good!

We were seated on the back patio, and after asking for an umbrella to hide from the sun, we dove into the menu. Sharing the HOME charcuterie, oysters, the mushroom bolognese campenelle pasta, and the osso bucco.

The charcuterie was by far my favourite course with the variety of house made meats and sourced cheese and a wonderful strawberry mostarda. JR liked the mostarda as well and he doesn’t like mustard. His favourite dish was the decadent osso bucco with bone marrow and crispy mashed potatoes.

The mushroom bolognese was a surprisingly complex combination yet was not too heavy. I really enjoyed it as a pasta sauce.

After our meal, we wandered down into the garden and viewed the lovely space. HOME really is a fantastic, all around experience for the eyes and the stomach.

We had a fantastic dining experience at The Home Restaurant in Soquel, Ca. The service was incredible. Always checking on us and refilling our water and getting us whatever we needed. The atmosphere was cozy and not too loud or cramped. We sat inside and were able to hold a conversation without yelling. Finally the food.... So delicious and well presented. Every appetizer, entree and dessert was made to perfection. Portions are a bit on the small side, but the food quality more than makes up for it. I'm giving "Home" restaurant a solid 4.5 out of 5!

Every dish was fantastic. Oysters were delicious. Focaccia was so good. The pasta was fresh and cooked perfectly. The sauce was some of the best I’ve had.

I can safely say that Home has been one of the top two places I have eaten in my two years in Santa Cruz.

The pine nut cauliflower had just the right amount of chili to complement rather than overpower the other flavors, and the asparagus tasted wonderfully meaty without being fatty.

The ricotta gnocchi was pillowy soft while maintaining a complex mouthfeel.

The only mediocre part of the pappardelle was the pappardelle itself; the sauce was excellent, and the pork combined intense flavors with an unctuous (in a good way) texture.

On top of that, the decor was wonderfully homely without being quaint, the service was excellent, and the price was very reasonable given the quality of the food. I will definitely be back.

The food was excellent. High quality, inspiring, beautiful and delicious. The ambience is fun, cozy, classy and has good acoustics so it wasn’t too loud but has some good energy to the place. The service was great. Knowledgeable, timely and helpful. I can be pretty critical but I couldn’t find anything I’d change about this place. Well done.
