Idler's Home is a local company which has been super easy to work with. Denys, has been working with me for about 5 years now and always provides the best service he can muster up. I go back time and time again. The delivery team this weekend was to notch, working seamlessly with my neighbors for a drop off. Deliver cost was ultra reasonable. The one pitfall is a needlessly wide drop off window. For a local company, I would like to see more tailored drop off windows. I think that would set them even further a part from the big box stores. They're great overall. I have purchased a dishwasher, refrigerator, custom stove and dryer from them. Thank you for the ongoing good services.

I had a terrible experience with this company last month and would not recommend their services.
It all started with a phone call to place an order—I knew exactly what I wanted and provided detailed descriptions of both products. My only request was a Wednesday installation. Shortly after, I received what should have been my first red flag: an invoice with someone else’s name, address, and details. While I did receive my own payment link in a separate email (with the correct amount), this kind of carelessness was concerning.
I made the payment, and the next day, they sent me the correct invoice along with a message confirming the Wednesday delivery. However, Wednesday came and went with no delivery. It turned out they had mistakenly scheduled it for Thursday instead. Unfortunately, I wasn’t available that day, but I arranged for my tenant to be there.
Since my contractor was hired to complete the installations after delivery, this delay was a major inconvenience. The company assured me that delivery would happen Thursday at 8:00 AM, making me the first stop of the day—but once again, they lied. Their own tracking app showed I was not the first stop, and the delivery didn’t arrive until after 9:30 AM.
Things only got worse from there.
The installers ignored my contractor’s instructions and scratched the range during installation. They could have just gave up and just delivered.
I had to pay my contractor for extra time wasted due to their delays and mistakes.
The company refused to take responsibility for the damage.
To make matters worse, they were rude over the phone and unwilling to provide the photos their installer took to "prove" everything was done correctly.
I could have purchased the exact same appliances from Costco, received a two-year warranty, and possibly faced similar installation challenges—but at least Costco stands behind their mistakes. Choosing to support a local business turned out to be a huge regret, and I won’t be making that mistake again with Idler
If you’re considering this company, save yourself the hassle and go elsewhere.

our dryer died and idler’s was the only Appliance store I could find that carried speed queen. We were able to research the options online, visit with a knowledgeable sales person over the phone and complete our purchase. Three days later we received our new dryer, courtesy of two very friendly and skilled delivery men. I would buy from them again in a heartbeat and highly recommend them. We are very grateful for idler’s and all of their amazing staff!

We purchased a stackable washer and dryer from Idler's a year ago. It was expertly installed at that time. Now we are moving to a remodeled condo. Today, Idler's people under leadership of Abram moved the appliances to the new condo. They arrived on time and did a wonderful job. They were courteous, professional and very helpful. We highly recommend Idler's.

Oh my gosh, I love these people! Initially, I was to buy a chair at a different location and they didn't have the chair I wanted after I drove 20 minutes to get there. They had told me they had it in and it was waiting for me. It was the wrong chair completely. I was so distraught, so I then called Idlers in San Luis Obispo to see if they had the Redwood Rocker Recliner (biggest and most comfortabole chair ever) which I was supposed to get at the other store, and they actually had TWO on their floor! These aren't in many furntiture stores, so I rushed over to Idlers in San Luis Obispo and was greeted by a very kind woman named Amanda. She answered every question, told me to take my time so I'm sure it's the one I want, to inspect it well and then I bought it, at a good price, right then and there. She was also able to get it shipped to me the very next day which I SO appreciated as it was urgent that I get this chair right away. (You don't want to hear the story, but it was urgent). Amanda was very kind, and kindly listened to me babble on forever and was highly professional and made me feel safe and comfortable buying this chair. I had taken out a loan for it because I needed it badly and she treated me very well.

The delivery man, William and the other fellow were both very, very kind and also patiently listened to me babble, lol, and got the job done very quickly, setting the chair up just as I wanted and making sure all was right and asked if I had any questions.

This couldn't have been a more perfect transaction all around and I most highly recommend Idlers in San Luis Obispo! Ask for Amanda! <3

Beware of this Appliance store. NOT an honorable company. My 85 year old mother bought a GE stove/oven combo from this store. During installation they didn't install a filler piece that came with the appliance. When asked about it, Idler's tried to charge my mother 125 dollars for this piece that was part of the unit. GE sent one for free. 4 days later the oven doesn't work. 8 weeks later elderly mother still without a working oven. Idler's full of excuses won't replace stove or refund money supposedly because GE got involved in the repair process. Taking advantage of the elderly. Shameful.
