Katie is a fantastically talented designer and a consummate professional. On top of all that, she’s a truly lovely person to work with.

We went through a very involved search process when choosing the designer for our large design project. We ended up choosing Katie because of design skills but also because of her open mindedness, flexibility, and generally great personality. Those qualities served us again and again during our design process and are why we now consider her a family friend.

The thing we could not have known during the initial selection process, but which we rediscover freshly again and again, is how truly talented Katie is at what she does. The beautiful photos within her portfolio only partially capture the dynamism and magic of how she works. She has a way of effortlessly bringing a room (or, in our case, an entire home) together with tremendous elegance, depth, dynamism, and style.

Our project was complex and involved the oversight of a large number of vendor relationships, an even bigger number of pieces of furniture, and then finally a huge two-day process of installation of all items. Katie handled all of this with tremendous commitment and professionalism.

Our project is mostly done now but we consult with Katie again and again on small “finishing touch” details. She continually surprises us with her skill and creativity.

You absolutely cannot go wrong with Katie Monkhouse for any project!

We worked with Katie and team back in late 2020 after a move into a larger house. We needed design support for some "blank areas" as well as full interior design services. Katie came recommended to me from a colleague and I am so happy so did! I truly enjoyed working with Katie and her team. Most importantly she brought our vision to life - and added so much value. I look around our home today and it could not have come together without Katie. We will definitely be using her firm for any future projects. Cannot recommend her enough!

Katie Monkhouse and her team are absolutely incredible. They took my spec home and turned it into exactly the vision we had in mind -- a fresh, light California-inspired home with fun elements that made it feel like ours. Katie has an incredible talent for listening to your vision (even if wobbly or hazy like mine!) and presenting ideas that hit it spot on. She's patient with the reviews, revisions, and rounds of pitches that it took to tackle each room in our house. She mixed both new and vintage pieces, stretched herself to research random items we specifically requested (hangable surfboards, vintage musician portraits, etc), and presented new and fresh ideas for artwork that we hadn't known existed. All the pieces she collected for us were kid-friendly but look straight out of a magazine and still hold up years later. She's truly a master of her craft. What a joy to work with.
