Alice started working on our project December2021, while the contractor worked from November 2022 through March 2024. Throughout this whole process, Alice had demonstrated a high standard of professionalism. She was very diligent and efficient with responding to our queries. There was no waiting for her response because she was so organized. Her minimum turnaround time was 24 hours considering she had other clients to take care of. We just felt comfortable dealing with her – no frills, no excuses. She would also provide a good analysis and feedback on our choices.

P.S. Prior to the demo of our project, we had a significant life event, Alice was so understanding and comforting. She has become a friend I could count on.

Just about done with our home remodel. Scope of work included our kitchen, stairs, living room, powder room, whole house flooring and interior color. The updates have had a huge, positive impact on our family .. the greatly improved functionality and aesthetics. Truly profound.

Specific comments for
1) Kitchen: We initially wanted to reface our cabinets to save money but ultimately went custom. Alice patiently walked us through the pros and cons to help us reach the best decision. Alice did a great job handling all the details with the custom cabinet maker to make sure everything was to spec and quickly address any concerns I had . For the overall design, we gave Alice some inspirational photos and our preferences, and it was a great collaboration to reach the end design. Alice brought up ideas, suggestions and selections I never would have considered or found on my own. Just to name a few items, the island color, the pendant lights, the hardware , and counter stools. It all ties together so well. All of her suggestions collectively took our kitchen to the next level . Key outputs during the design phase were her CAD drawings and a 3D render of the entire kitchen. The CAD drawings had all the essential details for all the trades (cabinet maker, cabinet installer , countertop vendor, appliance vendor , electrician, plumber). The 3D render was a photo realistic view of what our kitchen would look like, showcased all the ideas we agreed on and really gave us the confidence to move forward . I found myself looking at it every day!

2) Living room: Based on our living room size, Alice guided us to get to an optimally sized sofa + chaise, ottoman, and rug . We love her fireplace design. Simple and elegant. We used a mood board here and it was the right balance between cost and giving us the confidence in the design to move forward.

3) Stairs: Alice helped us with the newel post design and made a great call specifying no shoe on the square shaped balusters. The stair contractor we hired initially tried to talk us out of it and use shoes (easier to install) but Alice stuck to her guns . It all worked out as the stair contractor used a hollow mortise chisel (nominal $ increase to install the balusters) and our stairs came out perfect and the look is so much cleaner without the shoes.

4) Powder room: Alice took us out of comfort zone here by suggesting wallpaper . Based on different designs, we agreed to do wallpaper as an accent wall. This is definitely something I would have never considered but glad we are going this route to give some character to our guest bathroom .

We feel so fortunate that Alice helped us with achieving our vision. Not only does Alice have amazing talent as a designer but she is also a wonderful human being that will always put your best interests first.

After my dishwasher had a meltdown (literally) and my oven was making strange death spiral noises- I knew, after 16 years of service- it wouldn’t be long before I’d need to be replacing all of my appliances. If I was going to do that, I had the idea- how about going for the dream kitchen I’d always wanted? The original design was short on counter space and additionally there was always a cramped feeling between the counter seating and the dining table. I went to an online seminar for a local contracting kitchens designer - they later came over to my house and simply stated, “it’s going to cost $250,000”. They had me come to their office for a presentation which was basically a rehash of my existing kitchen. Recounting this experience to a friend, I was so fortunate to get a “word of mouth” recommendation which led me to Miss Alice Designs. My experience with Alice was phenomenal- how do I keep this list short? The highlights that come to mind- she totally listed to me with the concerns I had for counter space and cramped seating- solving those problems by removing the double oven, restyling the island footprint and adding banquet seating to the dining table. She did a fantastic job guiding me on the appliance choices- choosing exceptional high quality value items that also kept me within budget. She figured out what I liked and then sent me beautiful options- which made the whole process lots of fun. No detail or concern was too small- she was super responsive. It was also fantastic that she brought in the perfect contractor. The fees for her services were well worth the investment- she brought my kitchen right in on my budget of $150,000! I highly recommend Alice!

l really enjoyed working with Alice on our kitchen remodel. Her pleasant, professional manner, great eye for design, and attention to details were amazing. My husband and I can't get over how our old, tired 1980s kitchen was transformed into a elegant, beautiful kitchen. Alice helped us through the entire process, providing great design ideas that worked well together and matched our style. I don't have much of an eye for design and would have been lost without her. She also kept the work moving, routinely checked on progress, dealt professionally with a subcontractor issue, and made sure we were happy with all the work. Her oversight of the project not only saved me time and headaches, but I believe also ended up saving me money overall. I highly recommend Miss Alice Designs for your next project. You won't be disappointed.

I really enjoyed working with Alice, and she provided exactly what I was looking for: (1) her expertise, which saved me hours of research and stress, (2) a floor plan for my tiny studio apartment where I needed to make every inch count, and (3) a detailed furniture and decor shopping list for my budget. I moved into a studio and was living on my own for the first time in several years, and I needed a professional's help with setting up my apartment essentially from scratch. I found myself getting overwhelmed trying to research the endless details on my own, and once I realized I'd wasted two fruitless hours researching light fixtures, I decided to call in an expert. After a brief email consultation, Alice started off the process with a questionnaire that helped me think about my design preferences: the colors and textures I like (natural colors; no industrial materials like glass or metal), the limitations of the space (little natural sunlight, only 250 sq ft), and other important factors that she took into consideration. We then met in person at my apartment where she took "before" photos and measured the apartment carefully. Her turnaround time was really quick, and she prepared two proposed furniture layouts and a detailed shopping list. I was very impressed that she came within budget for her time and the furniture/decor! I've taken almost all of her recommendations and am really happy with my cozy apartment!
