We are more than happy with the results the Mr. Pavers team produced for our back yard. Michael, the design consultant was most helpful and answered questions through out the process. Nelson, one of the owners, gave us good ideas about how to improve on what we had in mind, and the crew was professional and hard working. Their work was outstanding and they cleaned up after themselves every day. We couldn't be happier. If we have any other paving needs, we will certainly have Mr. Pavers do the job!

The quote I received from Mr. Pavers was highest among 3 other quotes I received, however, they seemed to have more experience so I chose them.

Pros: They have man power. So many crews and they can do your project really quick.
Cons: The majority of crews are not experienced. The owner is never there to manage the project. The quality of workmanship is not there. They cover up and lie about doing the work properly.

As I mentioned, the workers are not that experienced. They made numerous mistakes on my project and the owner or project manager never to be found on site. When I report the mistakes to the owner/manager, I get a reply saying "They did it right" (without seeing it) After sending pictures/proof, he agrees to fix it but never apologize. I told him I don't want to manage your guys but you are never around to inspect your guys work.

1. Around a tree, they made a rectangle border when I asked for a curve. The owner claims it was my fault because I never told them how I would want it. Not true. Told the sales lady three times I would like it to be a curve there when she measured how much pavers they would need. Even if it was true, wouldn't you want to know how the client want it done? And how do you explain the weird angle around the tree and against the retaining wall? the workers have no clue and there is no manager on site. And they don't speak English so I cannot communicate with them.

2. Water is coming towards my back door. I told him numerous time the level is off but he refused to listen stating his guy did it right. Why is he so stubborn? After they completed the job, I showed him with the level and it was off. It was too late to undo the entire work, so he offered me a channel drain in front of my door. Quite ridiculous but I agreed to it just to find out he charged me for it. For 16 linear feet, $1500. He claims I got a good deal because he did more than 16 feet. Well, I measured it to be under 10 feet. Very deceiving.

3. Too many cracks and dings. Some are bigger than a penny size. I complained about it to the owner. He said it was acceptable according to manufacturing spec and said his house pavers are in much worse shape than mine. Well, that is comforting.

5. The part I am most disappointed with is his honesty and integrity. He never apology for his mistakes and blames clients. Maybe he is stressed out from many jobs sites

Overall, it wasn't a pleasant experience with the owner, Glayston. He seems to have a defense mechanism and honesty issue and never listen to clients just to find out he made mistakes. He never apology. Every time, he make mistakes he claims he has 20+ experience. This job quality is not what I expected from a company that has been around that long. I am pretty sure he started out with a good intention of helping people in his early career but later became dollar sign only. He claims he does about 30 jobs per month and proud of the volume. Maybe that is the problem.

Mr Pavers did an excellent job on my driveway and walkways in front of my home. They were on time, effiecent and went the extra mile to make sure everything was completed to my satisfaction. I would highly recommend Mr. Pavers if you are thinking about a paving job! Cal was my salesperson and Nelson job manager.

After many years of waiting to redo my driveway, I finally made a decision and replaced the old concrete with pavers. I got 6 quotes and after months of waiting, I decided to go with Mr. Pavers. To say that I am happy is an understatement. They were fast, clean, friendly and the end result is everything I was hoping for (and more)! They are professional, reasonable and did everything that I asked and even added some other details to make the driveway and entryway look better. I could not recommend them higher, and have already done so numerous times to friends and neighbors. If you choose to work with Mr. Pavers, you will not regret it. I am beyond happy with them.

We just finished up a small project with Mr. Pavers in Alameda. Well, big for us but likely small for their expertise--about 900 SF. Their communication was fabulous from when the salesperson set up the first meeting to review what we wanted until the owner came out to review the project before starting, owner's review during the project, and then the owner's review after the project--both phone, text and in-person communication was excellent. This really makes a difference when working with a contractor.

A port-a-pottie was set up in advance of all work without us even having to worry about this. Materials were nicely delivered as promised. Workers came and worked HARD in our yard for four days without ever stopping, no mess, and incredibly respectful. This is a well-run business with a high-quality work product. I am so happy we found Mr. Pavers for our project and I cannot wait until we finish deciding on what we will do in the remaining area of our yard to have Mr. Pavers back for another piece of work!

Out standing job in quality and workmanship. They installed a new side, patio, house step and planter, all in about one week. During this time they; removed the old concrete and brick, re-routed and added drains, rerouted the sprinkler system, laid the new brick and build the new planter. They even filled in the gaps in the planter with new soil.

Only a minor item was a lack of visibility in what the next steps were during the process. When working with this vendor it is best to paint the image of what you want and then stay out of their way and let there expertise drive the final product.

Great experience having Mr Pavers replace the cracked concrete around our pool with new pavers . Total job took only 4 days and the result was wonderful at a very good price . Great value! There were many small details to deal with - slopes, drains, steps, three walkways and two doorways and everything was done perfectly. Nelson, the owner , came by each day to make sure things went smoothly and all details were gone over. Job was completed on a Thursday and the porta-potty and extra pavers and pallets were all removed the next day.

Very professional. This is the third driveway they’ve done for us: 2 in Alameda, 1 in El Cerrito. They scheduled the work very quickly, within a week. They worked very efficiently despite the weather. Michael Barrett was very responsive to all my messages. Very happy with the results.
