Sophia saved the sale of our rental property! After the property sat on the market for several months, we felt pretty strongly that the poor staging had a lot to do with it. We loved our El Dorado Hills home, but decided we needed to move back to family and friends in Oregon. We were so very fortunate to have Sophia’s aesthetics and expertise as she staged our home for sale.

In olden days, curb appeal was essential. Presently, however, the majority of buyers begin their property search online before even setting appointments to view properties. So instead of “curb appeal” we needed the wow factor of a beautifully staged home with incredible pictures and videos online to get buyers’ attention.

I don’t know what I would do without Sophie. She has worked with me on three houses; guides me with remodels, (no staging). At first, we met in person but now, I send her photos and videos of what I’m working on, of my ideas, of materials while shopping, and she promptly responds with great ideas. 1st house, 2021: I was working on a house flip. Sophie helped me select chandeliers, material colors and paint colors for interior and exterior; gave me ideas on how to stage the house with items that I had on hand. I opted for safe, simple colors and materials, on a budget, and everything turned out beautifully. I posted the house at $575K and accepted an offer at $600K, just a few days later. 2nd house, 2023: Sophie helped me select paint colors for walls and cabinets, quartz for kitchen, and chandelier for a rental property. The house had a tile floor in a beige color that I hated because it dated my house, back to the 1980’s. Once the job was complete, I ended up loving the old floor. The paint colors that she recommended make the house look fresh and updated. 3rd house, 2023-2024: I’m currently working on a major fixer upper. Sophie helped me understand that my 1950’s house would look best in mid century modern style. I didn’t know what that meant but am learning and have fallen in love with a style that I initially disliked. Sophie has helped me to select front door, quartz, flooring, paint colors, tile for new shower and fireplace, chandeliers and more. I will be posting some photos and I want to disclose that I would have better photos if I listened to Sophie more often. She offers many ideas but in the end, I go for what I like that is safe, neutral, and cost effective, assuming that the house will be for sale, sooner or later. Style is not my strength; I’ve had many bad ideas and I would have made many mistakes if I didn’t have Sophie to talk me out of them. I’ve shopped on my own and have worked with designers from stores, only to feel as though I’m drowning in a sea of too many options that are not my style, as I lean towards simplicity. I depend on Sophie for the success of my home projects and for my sanity while working on them.
