What happened? Went in last month and it has been since 2015. It has the same pics on the wall, but the clothes were awful. I realized that pickers aren't bringing in stuff anymore for money or trade and it explained it all . The soul was sucked out of this place and the energy disappeared.

Went in tonight, less than an hour before closing. Employee said hello with a smile and let me do my thing, which I appreciate. I asked if I could try on two shirts and they said, oh yeah go ahead, and didn’t follow me or insert themselves, which I also appreciate. I bought one and was on my way. Good experience in a store full of some great vintage clothing. Will be back.

Little to no options larger than small and medium. Literally one item in the XL section of shirts. The aisles were extremely narrow - size exclusive and not accessible. Most of the stuff in the $10 room was basically garbage and the other room had too high of prices for the items they were selling. Check out Village Merchants or Goodwill!!

okay so i’m gonna start this off by saying, that as a customer i do not feel any sort of entitlement to receive “excellent customer service”. i am a strong believer that the customer is NOT always right, and i understand that so many places are incredibly understaffed and service workers are exhausted. i almost never leave bad reviews, but the experience i had at red light yesterday was horrible. i was checking out with my two items, and the entire time the employee had such a negative demeanor and made me feel really nervous. i was trying to stay positive and make some friendly conversation, and the person checking me out straight up just ignored what i said and refused to talk to me other than telling me my total. i get that they were probably just having a bad day, but it made me genuinely sad because i was just excited about my new pants. i almost ended up not buying anything and walking out because the interaction upset me so much. i won’t be coming back here, my experiences at crossroads and buffalo were much better

i like the accessories they sell and the $10 side, but i always leave this store feeling terrible because of the condescending way the employees treat customers. i’m a service worker so i get it and i’m not expecting them to always be peppy & energetic, but these employees are always incredibly unfriendly and act as if you’ve brought down their entire day by simply daring to come in & make them do their job. it’s beyond simply some “nonchalant alt employee” aesthetic choice and veers into making you feel like an unwanted pest in the store. there is no way the fully grown adults working there don’t understand the way their behavior can affect customers, especially when there are many more vintage/secondhand stores on hawthorne that people could go to instead, with employees that treat you like a human being.

also i really cannot recommend this store to anyone bigger than an XL. their size range is abysmal and in a city with such a big thrifting culture there is really no excuse for failing to cater to people who aren’t skinny.

I was a little hesitant to explore this shop based on the outside aesthetic (I was worried that it’d be too niche) but there was tons of variety in style. Fast Fashion items were separated from vintage which was appreciated. Prices were understandable, wide range, nothing felt overpriced even if there were things on the ‘pricier’ end. Tags were clearly categorized, you knew what you were buying (even if you have less experience in the clothing world). Staff was nice and friendly which was a bonus.
