I've spent thousands here on gear for backpacking and mountaineering as well as trail running and hiking in general. Today I went to return an item that didn't fit and was Informed that due to recent reviews of policy standards some changes have been made recently. And was informed that all my purchases from now on will be final. No more returns. Period. No answer as to why. No explanation. The nearest REI is 100 miles from me. So I often buy items in duplicate (multiple sizes) Especially euro fit items as they fit very differently. Try them on and return the incorrect size brand new with tags still attached. And it would appear I'm being penalized for doing this. I am waiting to hear back from their brand engagement regarding the matter. But for this experience Id give them a zero if I could. The entire reason to be a co-op member is the peace of mind that if a piece of gear doesn't work, you can return if within the first year. Without that satisfaction guarantee you can find most of their products elsewhere and typically for cheaper prices.

Best camping gear and camping equipment store. Portland branch is closing so my family visit this store at this weekend. Actually no one said welcome and greeting to me at all. Store is clean and neat. This brand is extremely high quality and expensive. Sometimes clearance items are amazing deal to me.
Public Restrooms are there. my teenager kids and toddler love to shopping this area. parking lots are chaos at weekends

Great place for camping gear. Offers both "I want to camp like real men" and "the kids want to camp and I want to a bit nicer somewhere else..."
The bikes are also really good and they do a wonderful job making sure they fit.
The workers try their best always and if they don't know they ask each other! Great working together.

I bought a roof rack here. The only thing that seemed to me was that there weren't enough staff in the sales area, but the people I met were amazing, I went there three times this month, it was great! The cashiers are aware of all the promotions and are well-oriented

Went to Rei to pick up my order. Mentioned to Austin (REI employee) how I wasn't able to purchase the limited edition rainbow colored Hydroflask because of the hiccup on the coupon with the online order. And now the sale was over. I didn't expect Austin ti resolve the issue, he went over and beyond to be very helpful with such positive and cheerful attitude. I was happy that he was able to help with the discounted price 🙂 He's such a wonderful and outstanding employee which makes my holiday spirit go up by 100%! Thank you for retaining such a valuable employee!

My wife loves it when I wear the Outdoor Research Kulshan Flannel Shirt. It’s super comfortable, fits great, and perfect for cooler days. The quality is top-notch, and it’s quickly become my favorite go-to flannel. Highly recommend!

Customer service is great, as always. It's a very friendly, helpful environment.

However, as of this review (middle of August 2020) they are suffering from the same resupply issues that are affecting a lot of retailers right now.

I'd check online for the availability of in-store pickup before making a trip.
