I was first connected to Jennifer after seeing her work at a neighbor’s house, which was beautifully decorated. That neighbor gave her high praise and a stellar recommendation. I wondered if she would live up to the hype, but not only did she live up to it but she well exceeded all my expectations and then some. I had a long wish list and a modest budget to work with. Jennifer wasn’t phased by my constraints and got to work immediately. And when I say immediately, she got several contractors to bid on my project in the first week. The contractor we selected did very high quality work at a reasonable price, and completed the project on time and on budget (the first project I can say that about!). No doubt due to Jennifer’s oversight and careful management. She was always checking in on the job site, and was able to make critical adjustments along the way. She also used her connections and resourcefulness to find great deals on almost all my furniture and fixtures, saving thousands. The property is used as a vacation rental, and Jennifer was very thoughtful about providing a high end look that would be commercial grade. She chose fantastic colors, a theme that tied everything together, and even made custom furniture pieces! I am a very busy person and was worried that I would have to manage much of the project directly. With Jennifer’s careful budget management and regular progress updates, I was able to trust her completely and literally didn’t have to get involved. She transformed the house and all the reviews since have been fantastic. If you want someone who will take pride and ownership of their work, who has experience and style, and who does it all for a reasonable fee, I cannot recommend Jennifer enough! To say she went above and beyond is a huge understatement… thanks Jennifer!!!

Jennifer Austin of RJ Austin Design is the best!! She will help you design, pick materials, shop for furniture and make sure the construction process is done correctly. Whatever you need. The amount of stress this alleviated for me is so huge it cannot be quantified.
I had done a few major remodels over the thirty plus years I’ve owned my house including adding a 2nd story. Looking back I wish I understood how much I needed to have someone like Jennifer working with me on those remodels. I’m not in the building or design trades. I don’t know how to place lighting or much of anything else. In one of my prior remodels if Jennifer had been on the job she would have caught the two room corners where the wall board didn’t meet in the corners. Imagine my shock finding that issue 30 years later!

I worked with Jennifer on two major remodels in my house. In 2017 we did the entire kitchen. This year we did the master bathroom as well as replacing most of the flooring and carpet on both floors with Luxury Vinyl Planking, new carpet on stairs and guest room, replacing & painting the front door as well as painting the entire interior of the house Additionally furniture and accessory shopping wouldn’t have been nearly as fun without her. I never would have ended up with such great items without her. She knew places to go and where to look online that I wouldn’t have ever done. I thought it was amazing when she found a print for my house while she was on vacation. She helped with every aspect of the job! I would have been lost without her.
Not only did Jennifer do the design layouts helping me realize my vision she also protected me during the building process as I engaged her services to manage the construction of the remodels. That meant she worked closely with the contractor. I know not all contractors like working with or understand what designers and project managers do but frankly I would have immediately fired a contractor who wouldn’t work well with Jennifer. A contractor should welcome her input after all they have the same end goal in mind of a good product and a happy client!

I’m already thinking about doing another remodel in a couple years of a small bathroom just to keep working with her. For now my projects are complete and I gained Jennifer as a good friend in the process! -- Barbara in Kenwood, CA.

I am very pleased to have RJ Austin Interior Design to help me selecting & installing hardwood floor. I am very happy my new floor matches well with my existing floor in terms of color , wood type, the direction of wood grain, & the beautiful baseboard. With her help, I avoided a big mistake by hiring a handyman to install cheap woods.
