Victoria combines excellent aesthetic sense as a designer with a talent for creating spaces that truly reflect and enhance the lives of those who inhabit them. My project, updating a cherished family home for an elderly relative, presented a unique challenge: improve functionality and comfort while preserving the familiar charm.

From the very beginning, Victoria impressed me with her attentiveness. She took the time to understand my vision, not just for the space, but also the emotional connection my relative had with the home. Unlike many other decorators, she wasn't focused on pushing unnecessary items. Instead, Victoria displayed remarkable creativity in repurposing existing pieces, combining them with new pieces only when needed. Furniture was rearranged to maximize comfort and flow while retaining a familiar layout. Artwork and photographs were repositioned, creating a fresh and visually pleasing environment. Modern conveniences, like a microwave and a new TV, were introduced seamlessly, enhancing usability without sacrificing the home's character.

The final result surpassed my expectations! The space feels both beautifully updated and comfortably familiar. Throughout the project, Victoria was a delightful partner. Her responsiveness, flexibility, and upbeat personality made the process a joy. She consistently kept me informed and readily incorporated my feedback. I cannot recommend Victoria's services more highly. She is a master at creating spaces that are both functional and deeply personal. Her exceptional talent, coupled with her genuine warmth, makes her a pleasure to work with. I wouldn't hesitate to entrust any future design project to her.

Our house was a bunch of stuff we accumulated over the years that didn't really match, so we hired Victoria to help do a "light" redesign, which involved redoing the floor plans and layout of the furniture in my house for a better and more cohesive look and flow, reusing some of the furniture we had to the extent possible, and replacing what didn't work, without doing any major remodeling. I interviewed 3 different designers, who were all great, but ultimately went with Victoria since I really liked her a-la-carte model and her style was more down to earth and comfortable. The other designers were also 3-5 times more expensive, for half the rooms covered!!!

Victoria only charged us a flat "design fee", which means that she will sit down and do a thorough consultation of your style and preferences, then provide you with 2D/3D renderings of your new floor plans and designs for your house and a shopping list of furniture, rugs, and accessories by room, with links, costs and availability/ delivery estimates, but you will need to do some of the legwork yourself - you will need to order items from your shopping list yourself, receive delivery of furniture and tell them where you want your stuff. You also need to hire any contractors yourself, manage any installations, get rid of your old furniture yourself and PURGE! So kind of like a more hands on, personal version of Modsy.

This is not to say that Victoria left me to flounder on my own after finalizing the shopping list. She can be as hands on or hands off as you want and will tailor her fees accordingly! With the shopping list and floor plan, I knew exactly what to buy and where everything went, but when I couldn't make a decision, she came with me to the store to help pick out fabric for the couch and select the dining table and chairs, as well new dishes. When we asked about putting in custom cabinets in our kitchen, she not only put us in touch with her cabinet makers and contractor, she also attended the meetings and helped explain what we wanted done, got us quotes and was involved the whole time, which I hadn't expected.

Victoria has been absolutely wonderful to work with. She is super responsive, patient, kind and extremely knowledgeable. She's got great taste and ideas (for instance, I would never have thought to change the layout of my office the way she suggested but it's ingenious!) and she truly listens to what we need and delivers, without any extra fuss. Finally, I love how flexible Victoria's services are. Her rates are unparalleled for the level of services you get and can be scaled up or down according to your needs. Her designs are superior in their esthetics, functionality and practicality, which is what we wanted. I would 100% recommend Victoria to anyone looking for beautiful and practical design services that won't make you mortgage your house!

Victoria has been amazing to work with, I can't recommend her enough. We hired her to help us conceptualize some cosmetic updates to our downstairs (living room, play room, kitchen). I think we were challenging clients because we really didn't know what we wanted, but knew what we DIDN'T want. But we struggled to articulate what we wanted to change and why. Victoria was so patient with us. She helped us find our style and then made sensible, economical recommendations for each room. I appreciated how detail-oriented and professional she was with the project, clearly documenting the scope. Victoria at Sound of Home did a phenomenal job helping redesign our kitchen. We had a lot of ideas on paper regarding kitchen layout before meeting her, and she patiently listened to what we wanted during the design process. She recommended several options on the layout to improve kitchen traffic flow, ensure color balance of cabinetry, and make sure the kitchen design was both beautiful and functional.
