I had Quality wool carpet installed, and everything went smoothly. They were on time and on budget, according to the estimate. The installers did a superb job. I’m very happy with the product and quality of the installation, and overall service.

After going to the box stores and being disappointed by not only price points and selection, any questions we had were met with the employees simply reading the signs at us that we were standing by.

Turns out--local wins again. Not only was their selection great, we didn't need to navigate through garbage carpets because they simply don't carry cheaply made carpets.

But yet, the price points were WELL BELOW even the higher-quality carpets at the box store. We found a carpet we loved, and it was literally HALF the price of something similar but with no warranty at Home Depot.

Then we got it installed. After we bought the carpet, the customer service stopped. We had to call multiple times to figure out when it'd arrive, and even then no one called us for two weeks after it did. We scheduled the install, and the people they sent hadn't installed a carpet before, left a HUGE mess, did a terrible job (carpet wasn't stretched, extremely visible seams, left trash UNDER THE CARPET. MacCheynes was SO sorry, but then did absolutely nothing to fix it. I ended up calling their subcontractor myself, because THREE MONTHS HAD GONE BY as I waited for them to address it, though every time I called they were 'right on it'. They were apologetic for sure, as was the installer to came to fix it, but not so apologetic that they felt the need to refund the some $300 we paid for the install. In the end, after having to finally move everything in and out of our upstairs twice, it looks just okay, and MacCheynes said they'd give us a 'discount' if we shopped there again. LOLZ no.

Left the garage open when it was -40 degrees outside and froze my water pipes, $292 later I had water again. How can you run a business in Fairbanks Alaska and not know how to bring supplies in without freezing your customers water?
