I've found a few things here that I genuinely enjoy, don't get me wrong. The staff is also helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, the company seems to be following the nationwide trend of price hikes that other thrift stores (that get things donated for FREE) have been participating in. I've gotten a couple dresses and a pair of jeans here, and the only true deal in my opinion were the jeans, which were about $7. Out of curiosity, I found the same pants online for $7! The fact that things are used does not seem to be a component of their pricing, but this isn't exclusive to St. Vincent. Just sick of the inflation trend. I don't know much about business, but you'd think lower prices would give thrift stores a competitive edge.

Merna, the sales representative here shows very poor attitude and is rude. From the moment we started asking questions she was extremely short and had attitude as if us being there was an inconvenience to her. Towards the end I finally mentioned that she was rude and that is when she insisted “this is your first time here, yes? Well I have been working here for four years.” Poor decision making in having this person represent this company.

The staff is very friendly, yes things can be pricey but you can also find great deals. I had a terrible experience at another theft store downtown (Salvation Army) that made me feel terrible because I found 2 items at 1.00 each for fake snow, the cashier whom said, " I'm the manager and this is mispriced, obviously my employees are putting the wrong price on things and the best I could do is 5 dollars each" FOR FAKE SNOW....it's September and I'm thinking a head for my first Christmas here.... at ST Vincent they actually get HAPPY AND EXCITED for you when you find a good deal! That is why I will pay a little more at ST Vincent. Thrift Store. Don't go to the Salvation army downtown juneau.

We stopped by the day before donations were open to explain what we had, they said they would take it all and told us to come back the next day. We did, they said they wouldn't take any of it and were very rude about the it. I had brand new kids toys, mattress covers for cribs never opened and all kinds of other kids things that they said they didn't have space for. I guess they don't really care about raising money for charity and instead just don't want to work to sort through, accept and sell items. If you are looking to help out a charity or the people of the community do not donate here.

Nice local thrift store. Prices are a bit high, but the money does go to charity. I've donated many times, but have been turned away just as many times stating that their store is full. The Juneau Pregnancy Resource Center is a better option for children's items. The people at St Vincent have recommended The Salvation Army for other items that they have refused. I wish this store was more accepting of clean, gently used, and like new children's items.

I came at 9am today so that I could make sure to be at the front of the line when they opened at 10am for donations. The manager woman inside refused to acknowledge me except for the occasional stank eye. She gave me some kind of hand wave at one point but I couldn't really see her well from my car. It may have been the finger but I'm not sure. Employees would arrive at the donation door and would knock and she would ignore them until she felt like letting them in. Once they started accepting donations, the poor employees were getting berated by her for accepting too many clothes. I was the first car and she was already yelling at them. I can only imagine what they had to deal with from her with the other 5 cars that were in line behind me. Complete jerk of a woman and I feel sorry for her employees.
