We enlisted the services of Judith and Alicia in August 2020 after working from home for 5 months and staring at our brown walls, not knowing what we wanted to do. They did an amazing job on our living room, dining room and pool table room, turning them into spaces much more reflective of who we are. We love our new funky living areas!

After several big life changes, I decided IF I was going to stay in my home of 14 years, something would have to change. I could hardly stand to be in my tired brown/beige family room and very outdated kitchen.
I began to search for an interior designer, as I was paralyzed at the thought of where or even how to begin. I finally decided to call Judith MahlinCarter with Spaces Interior Design, and from the moment she came in my door, I knew I had made the best decision that I could have made when I chose her.
She listened to my wish list and some ideas I had, and then immediately began to express some ideas of her own for the spaces. One of the greatest things she was able to do was to arrange all of the trades that were needed, from electrician to painter to countertop fabricator/installer to tile expert. I didn't have to worry about finding any of these people on my own! Plus, I felt completely confident in leaving them in my house while I went to work each day, as they have worked with her for years. She managed everything!
She was also great about helping me furnish my family room and dining area. She was able to offer me options for mixing more expensive items, such as my sofa, with less expensive options for accent tables and TV cabinet. That really helped to stretch my budget. Her use of color has transformed me and my space! I absolutely love what Judith did for my house. I feel so happy and peaceful at home now.
Next project - master bedroom and bath as soon as I can!

I can't tell you how excited we are to finally have a plan for making our home our own! Judith really understood our vision and we could have never never never put this all together on our own. The whole idea of decorating our home has changed from an overwhelming and frustrating notion to a well-planned project where the only overwhelming part is WHICH fun thing to do next. We hired Spaces Interior Design to update and renovate our townhouse, specifically in the living and dining room where we would do most of our hosting. Judith, owner and Pam, employee were very professional in meeting with us to find out what our goals were, and creating a contract and budget with our input. They then proceeded to update our paint color, replace the popcorn ceilings, remove a mirrored inset over the dining room table. We had wanted to put in a southwest entertainment center, and they were able to help create a better version by connecting the entertainment center to the existing fireplace with big timbers, as well as covering the fireplace with ledgestone, which popped! One of the next steps was finding the right southwestern area rug, which accents our existing furniture perfectly!
The final touches were to find the right artifacts to fill spaces within the entertainment center and around the fireplace, which included southwest silks , vases, indian basket, kachina, among other items, as well as a spanish style cross in wooden bowl, which fulfilled our goal of having a southwest Christian symbol in our house. This meant that Judith had brought in many artifacts to try out until she got just the right combination! We continue to have many positive compliments on our new look, and many questions about where to buy the items we have in our entertainment center. My husband says Judith never steered us wrong! We truly love our living/dining room space and hope to enjoy it for a very long time!

My husband and I purchased a condo in Phoenix which we remodeled. Since he has been a construction foreman for Habitat for Humanity, he could do most of the work. And since I am retired I didn't want to pay someone else to do my shopping. So I hired my designer on an hourly basis. Judy and Pam from Spaces Interior Design were invaluable in helping me choose paint colors and providing ideas. I love our new space and everyone comments on our paint colors.
